Job Description
The Youth Polytechnic Instructor III (Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy) is a vocational training position responsible for delivering technical skills to trainees. This role involves both theoretical and practical instruction within the area of specialization to ensure students gain industry-relevant competencies. The instructor is tasked with curriculum delivery, student assessment, and maintaining the quality of training facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide theoretical and practical instruction in Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy to trainees.
Prepare and maintain essential teaching documents including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and trainee records.
Develop and manage teaching and learning materials to enhance the training experience.
Conduct regular trainee assessments and evaluations to monitor learning progress.
Ensure proper care, maintenance, and safety of tools, equipment, and training workshops.
Organize and participate in co-curricular activities within the institution.
Maintain student discipline and provide guidance and counseling to trainees.
Requirements
A Diploma in Hair and Beauty Therapy Level 6 TVET CDACC or its equivalent.
A Certificate in instructors’ course from the Kenya School of TVET (formerly KTTC).
A Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
