Job Description
The Youth Polytechnic Instructor III (Building Construction Technology) is responsible for providing technical training and instruction to trainees in the field of building and construction. This role involves delivering both theoretical and practical lessons to ensure students are well-prepared for the industry.
Responsibilities
Providing theoretical and practical instruction in building construction technology.
Preparing and maintaining essential records including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and trainee records.
Developing and utilizing teaching and learning materials.
Conducting regular trainee assessments to monitor progress.
Ensuring the proper care, maintenance, and safety of workshop tools and equipment.
Leading and participating in co-curricular activities.
Maintaining discipline among trainees and providing guidance and counseling.
Requirements
A Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Industrial/Construction Plant Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building and Construction.
A Certificate in an instructors’ course from the Kenya School of TVET (formerly KTTC).
A Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
