This role is for a Warehouse Manager specializing in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), based in Nairobi and reporting directly to the General Manager-SEZ. The candidate is required to plan and coordinate all warehousing activities, ensuring the safe custody and professional handling of Clients' cargo within the warehouse, while achieving specific operational and financial deliverables.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Monitor and approve the receipt and release of Clients' goods.
- Submit periodic reports on stock movement to customers.
- Ensure ISO procedures are rigorously followed, and performance targets are met.
- Approve customers' invoices for services rendered.
- Prepare the departmental budget for gross margins and expenses and ensure the set budget is attained.
- Prepare periodic management reports.
- Handle customer issues effectively to ensure high satisfaction and client retention.
- Prepare bond returns for submission to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Prospect for new business opportunities and prepare accurate quotations for clients.
- Allocate storage space efficiently to maximize the use of available resources.
- Consolidate goods intended for export.
- Organize for the dispatch and delivery of goods to the relevant destinations, ensuring that all necessary documentation accompanies the goods.
- Ensure the safe custody and security of all goods stored in the Warehouse.
Qualifications and Profile
Education and Experience:
- A Business Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience.
- Experience specifically within a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) environment will be considered a significant advantage.
