Role Overview
The Volunteer Liaison for CorpsAfrica/Kenya performs a variety of highly responsible and confidential duties. This field-based position manages a select number of Volunteers, supporting them through their CorpsAfrica service—emotionally, professionally, and through their activities and projects. The liaison works collaboratively with communities, partners, and other stakeholders to help Volunteers succeed in their service.
Specific Responsibilities
Volunteer Support: Provide consistent facilitation and support to Volunteers within their respective communities.
Coaching: Serve as a mentor and coach for assigned Volunteers to help them excel in their service.
Target Management: Ensure that Volunteer targets and objectives are fully attained.
Reporting: Maintain comprehensive Volunteer records and reports; create monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Volunteer activities and training.
Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain cordial relationships with local Public Benefit Organizations, government officials, academia, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
Resource Mobilization: Participate in program resource mobilization efforts.
Financial Accountability: Responsible for Volunteer Petty Cash accountability.
General Support: Assist with events, training, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and other program opportunities as they arise.
Other Duties: Any other responsibilities assigned by the Country Director and/or Deputy Country Director.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) is required.
Experience: At least three years of professional experience, with at least two years specifically in community development, youth programming, or livelihoods.
Values: Demonstrated passion and commitment to youth leadership, participatory community development, and impact evaluation.
Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, results-oriented, and highly organized; high integrity, accountability, and discretion.
Communication: Excellent speaking, writing, presentation, and computer skills.
Professional Skills: Proven ability in partnership development and resource mobilization.
