Volunteer Holding-Over Advocates

Kituo Cha Sheria - "KITUO” is the oldest, most experienced legal aid providing and human rights non-governmental organization in Kenya, dedicated to empowering the poor and marginalized and enhancing equity and access to justice for all.

KITUO is seeking Volunteer Holding-Over Advocates for a 6-month placement period. This role offers vital hands-on experience and is strictly intended for individuals who have just recently gained admission as an advocate but have no prior professional experience.

Placement Details

• Role Duration: 6 months. Placements will commence on 1st January 2026 and terminate on 30th June 2026.
• Location: Positions are available at our offices in Nairobi and Mombasa, as well as in our various social justice centres.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Qualification: BA/BSc/HND (Implied qualifications necessary for admission as an advocate in Kenya).
• Experience: Candidates must have just gained admission as an advocate and possess no previous professional experience in the field.
• Personal Qualities: Must demonstrate eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful change in the legal aid sector.
