Trainer, Nautical Science

This role involves developing and delivering high-quality training and capacity building programs in maritime education and nautical science, ensuring trainees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

• Assisting in designing, developing, and delivering training and capacity building programs in maritime education and training and related areas.
• Supporting the development of instructional materials for training.
• Implementing training programs according to the set syllabus.
• Monitoring and reporting class attendance.
• Setting, moderating, administering, and marking of examinations.
• Supporting the supervisory roles of trainees’ practical sessions, trade, projects, and business plan development.
• Contributing to the development and review of curriculum and syllabus.
• Assisting in workshop records documentation and analysis.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade an Officer must have: -

• At Least three (3) Years relevant work experience at the grade of Assistant Trainer III or in a comparable position.
• Diploma in any of the following engineering fields: Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering or Nautical Science.
• Proficiency in Computer applications skills.
