Job Description
The Traffic Coordinator ensures the accurate booking, logging, monitoring, control, and reconciliation of all on-air advertising, sponsored programmes, and automated paid-for content across radio, TV, and digital platforms. The role ensures that all advertising and sponsored content is accurately placed, aired on schedule, and fully accounted for while upholding compliance with internal and external regulators, editorial, and contractual requirements while optimizing airtime utilization and supporting revenue delivery.
The position reports to the Content and Editorial Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and manage all commercials, sponsorships, paid programmes, and promotional content across radio, TV, and digital platforms.
Coordinate with programming, content, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of commercial and editorial content.
Vet, load, and manage all advertising materials to ensure readiness and accuracy before broadcast.
Maintain accurate, error-free traffic logs to support smooth broadcast flow and proper content sequencing.
Monitor and ensure all paid and sponsored content airs as contracted, supporting revenue assurance and billing accuracy.
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to track bookings, optimize campaigns, and maximize commercial performance.
Generate and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly airtime and revenue reports for management.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal editorial, ethical, and quality standards.
Maintain organized archives and audit trails for all commercial content, contracts, and broadcast records.
Act as the key liaison between Sales, Programming, Production, and Technical teams to resolve scheduling issues.
Track performance metrics such as airtime utilization and transmission efficiency to support decision-making.
Manage and optimize traffic and automation systems while supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media, Mass Communication, or Diploma with at least 3 years’ experience in a traffic role within a media house.
Strong analytical and commercial orientation with proven ability to manage airtime inventory, booking accuracy, and reconciliation.
Solid understanding of advertising operations, campaign management, and broadcast compliance frameworks (CA, KFCB, KAMP, PRISK).
Demonstrated proficiency in traffic management and broadcast automation systems (e.g., Synergy, Dalet, RCS).
Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills for effective cross-department collaboration.
Digitally savvy with the capability to manage data-driven reports, system updates, and digital campaign integrations.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
