Technician - Electrical

The Technician - Electrical role at Kenya Ports Authority involves assisting Senior Technicians in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing electrical installations, marine crafts, and equipment within assigned areas. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation and safe use of all electrical assets and the stability of power supply across company premises and housing estates.

Remuneration (Kshs.) The remuneration package includes:

• Basic Salary: 76,156.00 - 108,767.00
• House Allowance: 32,750.00
• Motor Transport Allowance: 17,000.00

Job Specifications/Duties

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Assisting the Senior Technician in inspecting Electrical Installations, marine crafts, and equipment within assigned areas.
• Supporting the Senior Technician during preventive maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure it is properly scheduled, carried out, and thoroughly documented.
• Assisting the Senior Technician in matters related to overall power supply and distribution to company premises, housing estates, and substations.
• Providing support to the Senior Technician during emergency repairs of electrical installations, marine crafts, and equipment.
• Assisting the Senior Technician in ensuring the safe use of all electrical equipment and confirming the availability of necessary accessories.

Person Specifications/Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• KCSE or its equivalent.
• Possession of a Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, Permanent Ways, Building & Construction, Electrical, Electronics, and Marine Engineering or its recognized equivalent.
• Proficiency in Computer applications.
• Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
