The role of the Technical Writer is to develop comprehensive user and implementation documentation for Kuja’s ERP platform. This platform is built on Odoo and tailored specifically for NGO operational needs. This contract role is crucial for ensuring effective adoption of the platform by client organizations and internal staff by translating complex system features and workflows into accessible materials. The successful candidate (referred to as a consultant in the posting) will collaborate closely with Kuja’s technical and functional teams to ensure the documentation is accurate and relevant.
Key Responsibilities and Scope
- Develop comprehensive user and implementation documentation for the Kuja ERP platform.
- Translate system features and workflows into clear, structured, and user-friendly guides, training manuals, and quick reference materials.
- Collaborate closely with Kuja’s technical and functional teams to ensure documentation accuracy and relevance.
- Ensure the documentation supports effective platform adoption by client organizations and internal staff.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in technical writing for software systems, preferably ERP or enterprise applications.
- Experience with ERP systems is required, with Odoo experience being highly desirable.
- Experience working in technology startups, SaaS companies, or tech-focused organizations is preferred.
- Knowledge of NGO operations or donor-funded project environments is preferred.
- Certification or formal training in Technical Writing (e.g., STC, UC Extension, or Google Technical Writing) is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to produce clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Draw.io, Lucidchart, Sphinx, or Confluence.
