Miale Solar is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the Business Development team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The role focuses on solution design, proposal development, and client engagement from a technical perspective, ensuring that all solutions are accurate, competitive, and aligned to client needs. This is a pre-sales focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys designing solutions and supporting deal conversion rather than direct sales hunting.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Business Development team in evaluating client requirements and proposing suitable solar PV and BESS solutions.
Prepare technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates aligned with client needs.
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform solution design.
Work closely with BD to develop competitive bids, tenders, and client presentations.
Translate technical designs into clear, client-friendly proposals and documentation.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
Provide technical input during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
Review client requirements and ensure alignment with technical specifications and project scope.
Support handover of projects to implementation teams with complete and accurate documentation.
Maintain a repository of standard designs, templates, and technical documentation.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and product developments.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
2–5+ years’ experience in a technical, engineering, or pre-sales role within the energy/solar sector.
Strong understanding of solar PV systems and energy storage (BESS).
Experience in system sizing, design, and proposal development.
Familiarity with design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for clients.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Collaborative and team-oriented, with ability to work closely with BD and engineering teams.
