Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning

The Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning operates within the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) and is crucial for achieving VVOB's ambition of scaling school leadership initiatives across Africa using blended modalities (combining in-person and remote/online methods). This role requires providing expert technical and strategic advice and guidance on blended learning both internally within VVOB and externally to partners.

Position in the Organisation

As Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning in the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), you contribute to the ambition and values of ACSL by being a key person on scaling school leadership initiatives in Africa through blended modalities (combining in-person and remote/online modalities). You provide technical and strategic advice and guidance on this domain within VVOB and outside.

You report to the ACSL Technical Lead, based in Kenya, and work in close collaboration with the Global and Strategic Advisors and Regional Coordinator, and with VVOB and ACSL partners at regional and country levels.

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Design and Development: Design and develop relevant and scalable school leadership initiatives in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, focusing on blended and online delivery of school leadership professional development initiatives.
• Strategic Guidance: Provide both short- and long-term strategic advice, information, and guidance to VVOB and ACSL’s partners on scaling, in line with policy trends, technological developments, and the latest research and thinking in education and international development.
• Capacity Development: Take up a variety of roles in capacity development processes of partners and beneficiaries according to the needs, particular situations, and phases of the programmes.
• Partnership Management: Create and manage partnerships and strong networks with relevant partners, institutions, and organizations on scaling school leadership initiatives at a pan-African level.
• Representation and Synergy: Represent VVOB and ACSL in relevant scaling platforms and proactively look for synergies and complementarities.
• Knowledge Management: Contribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning by systemizing lessons learned and proactively sharing lessons learned between partners, colleagues, and other VVOB country teams and ACSL partners.
• Communication and Advocacy Support: Support the ACSL Communication and Advocacy team on developing content for communication (e.g., website, video, social media…) and contribute to the dissemination of findings and results (e.g., international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events) on scaling school leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

This position requires a minimum qualification of BA/BSc/HND.
