Role Overview
The Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning in the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) is a key person responsible for contributing to the ambition and values of ACSL by focusing on scaling school leadership initiatives in Africa through blended modalities, which combine in-person and remote/online delivery. This role involves providing technical and strategic advice and guidance on this domain both internally within VVOB and externally to partners.
This position reports to the ACSL Technical Lead, based in Kenya, and requires close collaboration with Global and Strategic Advisors, the Regional Coordinator, and VVOB/ACSL partners at regional and country levels.
Key Result Areas and Responsibilities
- Initiative Design and Development: Design and develop relevant and scalable school leadership initiatives in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, focusing specifically on blended and online delivery of school leadership professional development initiatives.
- Strategic Advice: Provide both short- and long-term strategic advice, information, and guidance to VVOB and ACSL’s partners on scaling initiatives. This advice must be aligned with current policy trends, technological developments, and the latest research and thinking in education and international development.
- Capacity Development: Take up a variety of roles in capacity development processes of partners and beneficiaries according to the specific needs, particular situations, and phases of the programmes.
- Partnerships and Networking: Create and manage partnerships and strong networks with relevant partners, institutions, and organisations on scaling school leadership initiatives at a pan-African level.
- Representation and Synergy: Represent VVOB and ACSL in relevant scaling platforms and proactively look for synergies and complementarities among stakeholders.
- Knowledge Management: Contribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning by systemising lessons learned and proactively sharing these lessons learned between partners, colleagues, other VVOB country teams, and ACSL partners.
- Communication and Advocacy Support: Support the ACSL Communication and Advocacy team in developing content for communication (e.g., website, video, social media…) and contribute to the dissemination of findings and results (e.g., international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events) concerning scaling school leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
The required minimum qualification for this position is a BA/BSc/HND (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
