The Role: Statistician, Field Services (3 Posts)
Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) is a corporate body established under the Statistics Act (2006) and serves as the principal Government agency responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis, publication, and dissemination of official statistical information.
This is a Permanent and Pensionable Full-Time position within the Field Services division, reporting to the Manager, Statistics. The jobholder will be responsible for implementing statistical activities across the functional area of deployment, with a focus on data collection and standards application at the county level.
Monthly Remuneration
The salary package includes:
Basic Salary: Kshs. 80,400 - Kshs. 117,720
House Allowance: Kshs. 20,000
Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 12,000
Key Responsibilities
The jobholder will be expected to perform the following duties:
Carrying out pre-tests and piloting data collection instruments.
Setting up control measures for dispatch and receipt of questionnaires.
Updating statistical registers and checklists.
Identifying statistical units for data collection.
Following-up on non-response from data providers.
Preparing tabulation and analysis plans on data.
Collecting, collating, editing and analyzing data.
Computing statistical indices.
Compiling and collating County Statistical Abstracts data.
Disseminating county level statistics.
Updating county specific sampling units from respective sampling frames.
Providing guidance on statistical standards and methods to stakeholders at the County.
Undertaking any other duties, lawfully assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have a Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
