This role involves providing specialized support services crucial for the smooth functioning of the UN Wellness Centre. The UN Wellness Centre is seeking instructors to deliver professional fitness classes and program design to United Nations Recreation Centre members and guests. The incumbent is expected to work towards maintaining excellence in the fitness center, reporting directly to the UNWC Manager.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide specialized instruction by teaching classes such as Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwando, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapu Ela, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, and Tai Chi fitness classes.
- Assist in developing outreach initiatives, marketing materials, schedules, and Wellness content that engage and inspire clients.
- The instructor works towards creating excellence in the Fitness Centre, reporting directly to the UNRC Manager.
- Be responsible for preparing exercise classes, ensuring the studio/Aerobics room is clean and suitable for client use.
- Promote fitness classes to both members and non-members to increase or sustain membership.
- Maintain a client database or profile record for purposes of reference.
- Advise clients on health and fitness related matters.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications/Special Skills
- High School Certificate is required (KCSE equivalent).
- Certificate in specialty areas such as Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, or Aqua Aerobics is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of professional experience from a reputable organization/setting is required in teaching specialized classes (Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, or any other relevant class).
- Qualifications and knowledge of fitness products and equipment is required.
