This role is for a professional with deep knowledge of the Somali market. You will be permanently based in Nairobi, working remotely to take full responsibility for the strategy formulation and execution for the Somalia market, serving as the critical link between the company and the local market.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the annual/quarterly strategy and budget for the Somalia market.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the local media environment, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics, providing insightful reports.
- Expand and maintain relationships with local media, channels, KOLS (Key Opinion Leaders), and partners in Somalia.
- Plan and execute localized marketing, brand promotion, and public relations activities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of market activities, report regularly, and drive continuous optimization.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and other teams to ensure market strategies align with the company's overall goals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: BA/BSc/HND qualification.
- Language Proficiency: Exceptional written and spoken proficiency in Somali and English.
- Market Experience: Possess direct work experience in the Somali market and be familiar with the local business environment and regulations.
- Market Knowledge: Understand the Somali media ecosystem and possess relevant resources and contacts/network.
- Skills: Excellent cross-cultural communication and remote collaboration skills.
- Work Style: Self-driven and capable of working independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
