The Senior Trader – Fixed Income is responsible for managing the bank's fixed income portfolio, executing trading strategies, and ensuring optimal risk-adjusted returns. This senior position involves high-level market analysis, stakeholder management, and mentorship within the Treasury department.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Portfolio Management: Active execution of trades and strategic management of the fixed income portfolio to achieve targeted returns.
Market Analysis & Strategy: Performing comprehensive market research and analysis to formulate and implement effective trading strategies.
Risk Management & Compliance: Adhering strictly to risk management frameworks and ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and internal bank policies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with internal departments and external market participants.
Reporting & Documentation: Preparing detailed reports on trading performance, market conditions, and portfolio status.
Mentorship & Leadership: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior traders within the treasury department.
Qualifications & Experience
Academic & Professional Background
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
Master’s degree: Management and Business related (Added Advantage).
Mandatory Certification: ACI Dealing Certificate.
Additional Certifications: CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications (Added Advantage).
Experience Requirements
Total Treasury Experience: Minimum 8 years.
Fixed Income Experience: Minimum 3 years.
Terminal Proficiency: Minimum 3 years of experience with FXT and Bloomberg.
Risk Management: Minimum 3 years of experience in Treasury Risk Management.
Relationship Management: Minimum 3 years in Relationship Management.
Market Awareness: Minimum 3 years of proven Market and Commercial Awareness.
Product Development: Minimum 2 years in product development (Added Advantage).
