Senior Technician, Plumbing Grade Kewi 7 (2 Posts)

The Senior Technician, Plumbing Grade Kewi 7 (2 Posts) reports to the Principal Technician KEWI 6 within the Kenya Water Institute (KEWI).

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

• Organizing for practical sessions in the laboratory and workshops;
• Maintaining Inventory at the laboratory/workshop;
• Requisitioning of laboratory/workshop materials;
• Maintaining of laboratory/workshop facilities; and
• Analysing samples.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Served for a cumulative period of Nine (9) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Technician I or in a comparable position;
• Certificate in a relevant technical field from a recognised Institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Integrity Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity. The following clearances will be required from successful candidates upon offer of job (not at the application stage):

• Certificate of Good Conduct;
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission;
• Certificate of Compliance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
• Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Clearance; and
• Certificate of Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
