We’re looking for a Senior Procurement & Operations Manager to lead procurement, asset, facilities, and operational functions across Penda Health. You’ll drive supplier performance and operational excellence, keep our clinical and corporate sites running efficiently, and strengthen the controls and accountability that let us scale safely. This is a senior leadership role balancing cost, risk, resilience, and service delivery — with two direct reports (Procurement Officers and the Assets & Facilities Manager) and real influence over how the organization sources, spends, and operates.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Governance
Lead end-to-end procurement operations — from medical equipment and pharmaceuticals to services and operational supplies — ensuring compliance, value for money, and uninterrupted supply.
Build procurement strategies, governance frameworks, and sourcing approaches that optimize cost and quality.
Lead strategic supplier negotiations, set procurement KPIs, and use market intelligence and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
Supplier & Vendor Management
Own supplier selection, strategic partnerships, contract awards, and vendor consolidation decisions.
Monitor vendor performance, resolve escalations, and identify opportunities for stronger, more consolidated supplier relationships.
Operations, Assets & Facilities
Provide oversight of asset lifecycle management, facilities operations, and infrastructure projects across all sites, ensuring they’re safe, compliant, and ready to support high-quality care.
Drive asset optimization, maintenance programs, and capital planning.
Operational Controls & Financial Stewardship
Partner with the warehouse team to strengthen inventory governance and risk management.
Manage budgets under your docket, lead procurement savings initiatives, and ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Proactively manage procurement, supplier, infrastructure, and operational risks.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead, coach, and develop high-performing procurement and infrastructure teams.
Support medical centre expansion initiatives and cross-functional operational excellence programs.
Partner with clinical, finance, and operations leaders to align priorities and influence resource allocation decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
Professional procurement qualification (CIPS, KISM, CPSP-K, or equivalent)
7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or facilities/asset management, including at least 4 years in a senior management or leadership role
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams
Strong strategic procurement and supplier management skills
Experience across operations, asset, and facilities management
Solid grounding in financial and risk management
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change management ability
A results-driven, accountable, continuous-improvement mindset
