Senior Legal Assistant

This role, referenced as JOB REF No. SLA/017/25, is based at the Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust (KNEST). KNEST is a unique national informal sector pension scheme established by the Government to meet the unique needs of the more than 15 million marginalized informal sector workers. The scheme has deployed low-cost modern technologies to catalyze a sustainable business model that manages intermittent micro contributions.

Job Specifications

The Senior Legal Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Organize and maintain legal documents.
• Organize Board Meetings Logistics, Maintain Board Registers and ensure they are updated.
• Draft correspondences.
• Bringing up files for appropriate timely action.
• Maintain and update the court register.
• Attending to the relevant government registries on a need basis.
• Assist in undertaking research on assigned legal issues.
• Compilation and completion of papers, reports and reference materials.

Person Specifications (Qualifications and Experience)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Diploma in laws or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
• Meets the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Successful candidates will be required to submit the following compliance documents in accordance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) upon successful appointment:

• Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
• Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
• Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance report.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
