Senior Lecturer - Computer Science

This is a senior academic position (Grade 13) within the Computer Science department, requiring extensive experience in university teaching, advanced research, and academic leadership. The successful applicant will be instrumental in teaching, supervision, research grant acquisition, and substantial scholarly contributions.

Duties and Expectations

Candidates for this role are expected to demonstrate continued research activity, successful supervision of postgraduate students, and active participation in university leadership and administrative activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty (Computer Science). In addition, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Have at least five (5) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must be as a full-time Lecturer.
• Have accumulated at least thirty-two (32) publication points, twenty-four (24) of which must be derived from articles published in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Lecturer.
• Have successfully supervised to completion at least four (4) Masters students since being appointed Lecturer.
• Show evidence of successfully securing at least one (1) research grant since being appointed Lecturer.
• Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities.
• Show evidence of continued research.
