Senior Lecturer – Community Health (Grade 13)

This role is for a Senior Lecturer in Community Health, requiring a high level of academic accomplishment in teaching, research, and supervision. Applicants must possess an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for the position of Senior Lecturer (Grade 13), applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty.
• Have at least five (5) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must have been as a full-time Lecturer.
• Have accumulated at least thirty-two (32) publication points, twenty-four (24) of which are required to be from articles published in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Lecturer.
• Have successfully supervised to completion at least four (4) Masters students since being appointed Lecturer.
• Show evidence of successfully securing at least one (1) research grant since being appointed Lecturer.
• Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Show evidence of active participation and/or leadership in university activities.
• Show evidence of continued research.

Responsibilities (Inferred)

As a Senior Lecturer, the duties will typically include:

• Developing and delivering high-quality teaching materials and lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Community Health.
• Mentoring and successfully supervising postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) through to completion.
• Conducting pioneering research in the field, leading to high-impact publications in international and local refereed journals.
• Actively seeking and securing research grants to fund scholarly activities.
• Contributing significantly to the academic administration and leadership of the department and University.
