This role is for a Senior Business Development Manager focused on Secured Lending, based in Kisumu. You will be responsible for defining and executing strategies to significantly grow the company’s secured lending portfolio in the region, engaging high-value clients, and ensuring performance targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Strategy:
- Develop and execute strategies to grow the company’s secured lending portfolio in your region.
- Identify, engage, and acquire new high-value clients and partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and portfolio growth.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Market Analysis & Regional Insights:
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities, trends, and competitor activity.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management to optimize product offerings and regional strategies.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Mentor, guide, and oversee regional sales teams (where applicable).
- Monitor team performance against targets and provide coaching for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance guidelines, and ethical sales practices.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market developments, and client feedback.
- Collaborate with central management to align regional strategies with company goals.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in business development or sales management within secured lending, credit, or financial services.
- Track Record: Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets in the same industry.
- Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Location Familiarity: Must be based in and familiar with the assigned location (Kisumu).
- Attributes: High level of integrity, professionalism, and results-orientation.
