AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa, is part of the MSC family. This role involves supporting the Mombasa Branch Manager, General Manager MCT, Shipping Agency Managers, and Projects Manager to ensure all operations are carried out securely in a controlled and risk-managed manner.
Key Responsibilities (Mission Description)
- Security System Development: Develop and maintain the Security Management System (SMS) in line with global best practice standards and AGL global Security policies, plans, procedures, instructions, and guidelines for the protection of employees and physical/property assets across all allocated sites (offices, warehouses, ports, projects, and transit routes).
- Implementation & Standardization: Develop, implement, and manage all multi-sites security systems with the objective of standardizing security plans, procedures, documented records, and sharing best practices across all sites.
- Risk Assessment: Continuously interact with all business units to assess and advise on security risks, needs, incidents, community threats, political activity, and enforce AGL security controls and expectations.
- Intelligence & Analysis: Conduct intelligence gathering related to breaches and crime trends, and analyze intelligence that might impact the business.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and manage ethical and compliant commitments and relationships as per the AGL Code of Conduct and compliance program with law enforcement agencies, local county authorities, intelligence officials, and port/industry/client security teams.
- Incident Management: Handle incident case management through response, notification, communication, escalation, investigations, documentation, evidence protection and gathering, corrective actions, and prosecution follow-up to closure with the corporate investigation team (both criminal and forensic).
- Team and Vendor Management: Manage the departmental team and the delivery of the security service provider to all AGL sites, operations, and on-road escort/cargo locations. Monitor their performance as per contractual KPIs. Manage relationships with security vendors operationally, ensuring value for money as per LPO, contracts, delivery notes, certificates of service agreements, and AGL expectations.
- Resource Optimization: Manage existing security labor resources at all assigned AGL locations to ensure a balance is achieved between business need and real requirements pertaining to work force posting.
- Technology Streamlining: Develop a process to continuously streamline electronic security to achieve best practices in all the Company's sites and operations of interest.
- Emergency Planning: Participate and advise Senior Management in the development of Emergency plans, business continuity plans and procedures, corrective and preventive actions, internal and external audits, and client/cargo incidents.
- Training and Awareness: Develop security training programs and campaigns for general staff, subcontractors, suppliers, visitors, clients, and Security teams to improve security awareness and adherence to Security and business controls and SOPs across all AGL sites.
- Special Assignments: Manage special events and assignments in all the Company functions and areas of operations.
Profile and Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Security, Criminology or Management related studies.
- Security & Investigation related professional certifications.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role in logistics/supply chain/FMCG.
