Job Description
The Ajira Digital Program, established in 2016 by the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, aims to bridge the gap between skills demand and lack of employment opportunities. The core purpose of the program is to introduce young people to digital and digitally-enabled work, providing them with the necessary tools, training, and mentorship to secure employment and earn a dignified income.
The long-term vision of Ajira Digital is to position Kenya as a choice labour destination for multinational companies and encourage local companies and the public sector to generate digital work, cementing Kenya's position as a recognized Freelance hub.
Scholarship Program
This is a training and mentorship opportunity designed to equip young degree holders with practical digital skills.
Key Responsibilities
Participate actively in job readiness and mentorship workshops designed to prepare participants for real-world opportunities.
Attend comprehensive technical skilling and industry mentorship sessions for 4–5 months, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on learning.
Demonstrate high commitment, consistency, and enthusiasm throughout the entire learning journey.
Eligibility Criteria
Hold a first degree (BA/BSc/HND) with good foundational computer skills.
Must have access to a personal computer and a reliable internet connection.
Possess basic computer skills.
Must be self-driven, disciplined, and capable of working independently.
