The Role: Samburu Research Centre Internship

This internship opportunity is based at the Samburu Research Centre and is exclusively open to highly motivated Kenyan students keen on wildlife conservation and scientific research related to elephants.

Eligibility and Qualifications

This opportunity is open to Kenyan students who meet the academic and experience criteria below:

• Must hold a BSc in Zoology, Botany, Environmental Sciences, GIS, or a Diploma in Wildlife Management/Conservation from WRTI (or equivalent).
• Applicants must have at least one previous experience in fieldwork, including as part of their academic training.
• Previous attachment and/or internship with another conservation organization is considered a bonus.

Required Skills

Candidates must possess the following skills:

• English proficiency.
• Experience with scientific writing in English (e.g., BSc project).
• Good knowledge of Excel and of the Microsoft Office package.
• Ability to conduct basic statistics and produce graphs in Excel.
• Preferable: Basic knowledge of GIS environments.
• Preferable: Basic knowledge of softwares for statistical analysis.
