The role of the Sales Manager IBS is centered on implementing an efficient and effective sales strategy and tactics to grow Thales's business within the targeted East Africa region. The manager is responsible for developing sales strategies, analyzing and qualifying prospects and sales leads with both government and private companies across the entire IBS product portfolio (solutions and documents). Success in this role requires negotiating and closing leads to achieve profitable sales.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The Sales Manager has the responsibility for the sales of all products, services, and solutions in the area of East Africa.
- Identify new opportunities and position Thales as a key partner and key supplier.
- Develop, propose, and implement the strategic account planning composed of the local account approaches and the global marketing plan.
- Coordinate Thales tenders’ answers with the Bid management team.
- Establish high-level strategic relationships with government entities.
- Interface with various resources within the Business Line to ensure the customer’s needs are fully understood and that the appropriate resources are allocated to the account.
- Interface with DGDI / AMEWA organization.
- Ensure that relevant Market information is communicated internally within Thales.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- BS degree in IT/Telecommunication or a relevant skill area.
- A Master Degree in Business administration is considered a strong plus.
- Proven track record as a Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, or Sales Account Manager, especially within complex and long sales cycles.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar sales job role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage African customers, including those related to IT/Telco, banks, and governments.
- Living experience in Africa is required.
