The Sales Engineer role within REDA Chemicals’ Home and Personal Care business unit is pivotal for driving strategic sales growth and strengthening market presence in the cosmetics and consumer products sector across Kenya. This position demands a combination of technical expertise in chemicals and robust commercial acumen to effectively promote the company's portfolio of specialty raw materials and active ingredients, alongside identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic positioning and competitive sales development of chemicals specifically for cosmetics and consumer products applications.
- Develop and implement effective business development strategies aimed at acquiring new customers and expanding overall market share.
- Be responsible for the preparation and management of sales budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Negotiate pricing structures with customers to ensure the achievement of optimal profitability targets.
- Oversee stock orders, cultivate strong customer relationships, and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of products to warehouses.
- Conduct regular client visits and maintain a focus on acquiring new customers each month to significantly boost turnover and return on investment (ROI).
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to sales and distribution.
- Perform detailed market analysis, identify emerging industry trends, and propose innovative product ideas to continually enhance the overall business strategy.
- Organize and execute product trials directly with customers, providing recommendations on appropriate application rates and methods to maximize cost-effectiveness and product performance.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Experience: 3-4 years of sales experience specifically within the Home and Personal Care industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven experience selling raw materials and active ingredients, coupled with strong technical knowledge relevant to these products.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated strong sales mindset and market orientation.
- Language: Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal).
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
