Job Description
KETSA is a registered association under Cap 108 of the laws of Kenya as Kenya Teachers SACCO Association and brings together all the teacher-based Saccos in the country. Its main objective is advocating for the issues affecting teachers Saccos in their business.
Role Purpose
The ICT Officer will support in managing the ICT department of the Sacco, infrastructure implementation, system security, data security, and disaster recovery. The successful candidate will ensure routine maintenance on ICT equipment is carried out and maintain the effective performance of software, hardware, and related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure routine maintenance on ICT equipment is carried out.
Ensure effective and continuous performance of software, hardware, and other related ICT equipment.
Perform software and hardware upgrades and integration.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of all ICT equipment and software installed.
Provide technical support to system users.
Manage the capacity and performance of the local area network (LAN).
Manage system security and perform regular backup and restore procedures.
Train staff in application usage and troubleshooting.
Provide user support for staff regarding software and hardware systems.
Ensure the reliability of email and internet browser systems.
Regularly update the Sacco website.
Handle email management in compliance with the email/internet policy.
Ensure all new staff are oriented and able to use ICT equipment effectively.
Analyze the consistency and accuracy of data in the Sacco's database(s).
Assist in data collection, entry, and verification.
Ensure that all external service contracts are executed according to the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Ensure that payments relating to service contracts are processed on time.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Degree in IT, BBIT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven 2-3 years of related work experience, preferably within a deposit-taking Sacco.
KCSE Mean Grade of C+ and above.
Age: Above 30 years.
Required professional certification in ICT fields (e.g., COMPTIA, CISCO, CISM, CISA, or similar) is an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
Deep understanding of networking technology, routing, switching, and firewalls.
Overall understanding of enterprise systems.
Strong problem-analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to handle and assess critical situations and coordinate with team players to restore normal ICT services.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-application, and multi-service provider environment.
Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
