UNICEF
The role is for a National Consultant specializing in Loss and Damage, supporting the Global Programme Division of UNICEF in Nairobi, Kenya. This position is vital for assisting countries in addressing the adverse impacts of climate change, specifically through child-sensitive loss and damage interventions.
UNICEF is the world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, supporting child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, and foundations.
Loss and Damage interventions are highly context-specific and require a country-led, country-owned approach. For this reason, locally based consultants are best positioned to deliver this support, leveraging their extensive knowledge of national systems, priorities, and languages to facilitate a bottom-up process for FRLD (Framework for Loss and Damage) proposal development.
