About the Role
PathCare Kenya is seeking a dedicated Roaming Laboratory Technologist to facilitate mobile specimen collection. PathCare is a private, Kenyan-owned professional laboratory providing services to clinicians and their patients in collaboration with Pathcare South Africa, one of the leading pathology groups. This role is vital for extending our diagnostic services directly to patients' homes and offices, ensuring professional phlebotomy and sample handling outside the traditional lab environment.
Responsibilities
Specimen Collection: Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients at their homes and offices.
Documentation: Accurately label and document all collected specimens to ensure proper traceability and reporting.
Logistics: Ensure the safe packaging and secure transportation of specimens to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity.
Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to infection control, biosafety, and medical waste management protocols.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science.
Licensing: Must possess a valid motorbike driving licence.
Knowledge: Proficiency in biosafety and infection control standards.
