The Repairs & Maintenance (R & M) Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair works within the camp or property. The role involves managing departmental staff, conducting regular site inspections, maintaining equipment, and assigning personnel to various projects to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
Primary Purpose
The role of a R & M Supervisor is to coordinate the installation, maintenance and repair works in the Camp/property, management of staff in the department, regular inspection of sites, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects and assignments.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Operations & Planning: Lead all maintenance processes and operations, plan and manage all repair and installation activities. Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance work logs.
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure compliance with the overall business objectives and growth strategies. Meticulously plan to ensure all services and upgrades are performed with the least disruption to operations.
- Guest Satisfaction: Ensure maintenance works are resolved in time or repaired timely minimizing guest disruption. Put in place a plan to ensure all rooms/tents repair and maintenance issues are resolved before check-ins and after check-outs in the camps.
- Technical Oversight: Assign repair schedules and assist in evaluating repair cost estimates. Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent maintenance matters as they arise.
- Project Management: Assist in managing projects and coordinating contracted works ensuring adherence to the safety measures and deliverables in the SLAs (Service Level Agreement).
- Quality Improvement: Manage the process of continual improvements in the set-up of events and facilities. Establish root causes of emergency maintenance needs and put in place long-term mitigation measures.
- Administration: Implement use of job cards/requisition forms for repairs and maintenance works done ensuring they are approved by relevant Supervisors/HODs.
- Compliance: Ensure all departmental standards, processes, and legislative requirements have been adhered to (e.g., Permits from County Government). Ensure implementation of OSH and ISO safety recommendations or SOPs.
- Safety Management: Ensure the health and safety rules and regulations are always adhered to by the staff, casuals, and contractors.
- Team Leadership: Set goals and objectives for staff and support staff development and capacity building efforts. Assist in managing and reviewing employee performance and deliver training to the staff in the department.
- Utilities Monitoring: Set a daily monitoring plan for all water heating systems and water dosing points.
Candidate Profile
- Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Level I, II, III trade tests.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance operations and supervisory experience in a busy hospitality establishment.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and oral, in English.
