The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the company’s overall compliance to all global standards and local regulations under which Greenblade operates. The role involves the implementation and maintenance of all requirements for food handling and food safety global standards, managing the company's food safety management system from the farm to delivery, and training various staff members on food safety, quality, and legality. The manager ensures that data is captured at all relevant points in the production, processing, and export chains to maintain traceability and enhance yields while reducing customer claims.
Responsibilities
Complaint Management: Reduce customer complaints and product rejections from 5% to 3%. Conduct root-cause analysis on all customer complaints and work with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure 100% compliance to all applicable standards and practices, as well as farm, packhouse, and commercial policies and procedures.
Training and Audits: Collaborate with the Packhouse Manager and Human Resource Manager to identify training and audits required regarding food safety, quality, and compliance with the Employment Act. Organize food safety training sessions.
Quality Control: Ensure quantity and customer specifications are followed consistently during production in the packhouse.
Technical Maintenance: Maintain technical standards such as BRC, SMETA, and Global GAP. Manage certifications, customer requirements, MRL issues, and quality claims.
Reporting: Ensure timely and appropriate reporting to the Line Manager.
Operational Efficiency: Capture data across production and export chains to ensure traceability and maintain claim levels within the budgeted level.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Science, or a related course.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar work environment.
Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
Commercial awareness and sound business knowledge.
Team player with the ability to work effectively and make decisions independently.
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
