The Project Manager Sustainable Supply Chain (Traceability) will provide Project Management support in the roll out of one of Rainforest Alliance's key strategic initiatives: the implementation of a new Traceability Platform and its associated processes. This role requires extensive cross-functional collaboration to successfully plan this initiative, manage resources, and engage stakeholders throughout the process. A key focus will be on Risk and Issue Management, and working closely with the Implementation Team to ensure successful Change Management activities.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Produce comprehensive project plans, ensuring all activities are identified, appropriately organized, and align with project objectives and the organization's project management framework.
- Project Scope Definition: Coordinate the identification and detailed analysis of requirements for completeness and alignment. Document and manage these requirements throughout the project lifecycle, and coordinate the testing of the final deliverable.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain robust relationships with key partners across various teams and ensure effective communication of changes to maintain alignment with all key stakeholders.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify and evaluate potential risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project. Escalate critical matters where appropriate, and develop, agree on, and implement necessary Contingency plans.
- Project Resource Management: Manage the deployment of project resources, provide accurate forecasts, and present variances with supporting narrative at appropriate review points to ensure resources are utilized effectively.
- Project Management and Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and experts to ensure effective project implementation and seamless collaboration among all stakeholders. Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, climate change, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience in managing projects, preferably with a focus on sustainable agriculture or forestry supply chains.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of supply chains in the sectors Rainforest Alliance works in, and a deep understanding of how certified crops are produced, traded, and processed through them.
- Experience working with voluntary standards within agriculture/forestry, and an understanding of their value proposition opportunities.
