Trustees share collective responsibility for the strategic leadership and governance of Farm Africa. As a Programme Advisory Committee Trustee, you will provide strategic guidance on programme design, investment planning, and resource allocation. This role ensures that initiatives are both financially sustainable and developmentally impactful, with clear pathways for scaling and replication.
Responsibilities
Governance and Leadership: Provide robust governance oversight in line with regulatory and fiduciary duties.
Strategic Monitoring: Contribute to the development and monitoring of organisational strategy, budget, performance, and risk.
Ethics and Stewardship: Support effective oversight of safeguarding, financial stewardship, and organisational ethics.
Advocacy: Champion Farm Africa’s mission, values, and long-term sustainability.
Ambassadorial Duties: Act as an ambassador for the organisation, supporting external engagement, partnerships, and income generation as appropriate.
Collaborative Decision-Making: Work collaboratively with fellow trustees and executives to ensure effective board decision-making.
Programme Guidance: Provide strategic guidance on programme design, investment planning, and resource allocation within the Programme Advisory Committee.
Expertise and Experience
Programme Design: Extensive experience in programme and project design for large-scale development initiatives.
Investment Strategy: Proficiency in investment strategy, portfolio management, and impact measurement.
Finance Models: Understanding of blended finance and public–private partnership models.
Management: Experience in results-based management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Capacity Building: Strong skills in capacity building and stakeholder engagement.
Senior Leadership: Proven track record in senior roles within organisations such as multilateral development banks or private sector foundations.
Sector Expertise: Experience leading the design and implementation of high-impact programmes in sectors such as climate resilience, green energy, and food systems.
Strategic Advice: Experience advising on investment strategies that align capital flows with social and environmental objectives.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) or equivalent qualification is required.
