Professor - Actuarial Science

This is a senior academic appointment for the position of Professor (Grade 15) in Actuarial Science at Embu University College. The role requires a distinguished scholar with proven leadership, extensive teaching experience, significant research output, and successful supervision of postgraduate students.

Qualifications and Experience (PROFESSOR – GRADE 15)

Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty (Actuarial Science). In addition, applicants must satisfy the following stringent criteria, demonstrating scholarly maturity and contribution:

• Teaching Experience: Have at least twelve (12) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must have been served as a full-time Associate Professor.
• Scholarly Publications: Have accumulated at least sixty (60) publication points, forty (40) of which must be derived from articles published in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Associate Professor.
• Postgraduate Supervision: Have successfully supervised to completion a minimum of six (6) Masters students and two (2) PhD students since being appointed Associate Professor.
• Research Grants: Show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) substantial research grants since being appointed Associate Professor.
• Academic Contribution: Show verifiable evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• University Leadership: Demonstrate evidence of active participation and/or leadership in university activities, committees, or governance structures.
• Continued Research: Show clear evidence of sustained and continued research activity and scholarly output.
