Job Description
Rose Avenue Consulting Group is a financial management, strategy and consulting firm that combines deep industry knowledge with specialized expertise in corporate finance, strategy and research. We are seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the end-to-end procurement process for Agrochemicals and Fertilizers. This role focuses on ensuring cost-efficiency, regulatory compliance, and timely supply to meet seasonal demand cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Execution
Develop and implement procurement plans specifically for Agrochemicals and Fertilizers.
Work closely with the Head of Agro-Division and the Procurement Manager to align schedules with regional and seasonal demand cycles (e.g., planting seasons).
Raise, process, and track both local and international purchase orders.
Monitor stock levels and trigger replenishment in coordination with warehouse and sales teams.
Supplier Management
Conduct supplier due diligence, including technical capability, certifications, and compliance assessments.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and contracts.
Maintain a database of vetted suppliers for agrochemical and fertilizer categories.
Conduct periodic performance reviews focusing on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Liaise with the Registration Department to ensure all procured products comply with PCPB (Pest Control Products Board) regulations and KEBS standards.
Ensure adherence to international standards (FAO, WHO) where applicable.
Coordinate with the Shipping Department to obtain necessary import permits and confirm adherence to labeling and handling requirements.
Inventory & Demand Management
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to accurately forecast demand and ensure on-time delivery.
Monitor inventory turnover to minimize obsolete or expired stock.
Support periodic stock audits and reconciliation processes.
Cost Optimization & Budget Control
Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality.
Monitor global market trends in fertilizer and chemical pricing and forex impacts.
Optimize logistics costs by developing a competitive local transporter base and maximizing truck utilization.
Logistics & Import Coordination
Coordinate import logistics and clearance with the Shipping Department.
Track shipments and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
Ensure full compliance with importation regulations for hazardous and controlled substances.
Align product arrival schedules with warehouse readiness to minimize waiting times.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly procurement reports.
Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness through compliance with internal controls.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience.
Experience in agrochemicals, fertilizers, or regulated products (2–3 years) is an added advantage.
Significant experience in international sourcing and importation processes is highly desirable.
