The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit two Principal Information Communication Technology Officers. This is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating ICT systems within the County.
Compensation and Terms
Salary Scale: Ksh. 58,360 x 2,750 – 61,110 x 2,920 – 64,030 x 3,080 – 67,110 x 3,540 – 70,650 x 3,690 – 74,340 x 3,890 – 78,230 x 3,900 – 82,130 x 4,010 – 86,140 x 4,060 – 90,200 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will perform the following functions:
- Systems development, implementation, and allocation of resources.
- Coordinating comprehensive systems development, implementation, and maintenance activities.
- Carrying out feasibility studies for potential projects.
- Preparing progress reports detailing systems development efforts.
- Evaluating systems and ensuring strict adherence to established ICT standards.
- Training staff and preparing comprehensive staff performance reports.
- Planning, monitoring, and evaluating programs/activities within the information communication technology division/unit.
- Ensuring continuous adherence to information communication technology standards.
- Liaising with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of information communication technology equipment.
- Reviewing and evaluating hardware maintenance feasibility studies and detailed specifications before implementation.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- Be a Citizen of Kenya.
- Served in the grade of Chief Information Communication Technology Officer or in an equivalent and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Physics, or any other ICT related discipline with a bias in information communication technology from a recognized Institution; OR
- A Higher Diploma in Computer Science/Information Communication Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
- Demonstrated professional ability, initiative, and competence in organizing and directing work.
