The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit two (2) Principal Information Communication Technology Officers. This role is offered on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
Salary Scale: Ksh. 58,360 x 2,750 – 61,110 x 2,920 – 64,030 x 3,080 – 67,110 x 3,540 – 70,650 x 3,690 – 74,340 x 3,890 – 78,230 x 3,900 – 82,130 x 4,010 – 86,140 x 4,060 – 90,200 p.m.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria for appointment:
- Be a Citizen of Kenya.
- Served in the grade of Chief Information Communication Technology Officer or in an equivalent and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Physics, or any other ICT related discipline with a bias in information communication technology from a recognized Institution; OR hold a Higher Diploma in Computer Science/Information Communication Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks.
- Demonstrated professional ability, initiative, and competence in organizing and directing work.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Principal ICT Officer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Systems development, implementation, and allocation.
- Coordinating systems development, implementation, and maintenance activities.
- Carrying out feasibility studies for new ICT projects.
- Preparing progress reports related to systems development.
- Evaluating systems and ensuring strict adherence to established ICT standards.
- Training staff and preparing staff performance reports.
- Planning, monitoring, and evaluating program/activities within the information communication technology division/unit.
- Ensuring adherence to information communication technology standards.
- Liaising with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of information communication technology equipment.
- Reviewing and evaluating hardware maintenance feasibility studies and detailed specifications before implementation.
