Role Overview
Brainston Kindergarten is a private school dedicated to offering the 2.6.6.3 Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). The primary focus of this role is the comprehensive education of students in all aspects, specifically within the Primary and Junior School levels.
Job Summary
The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and executing appropriate daily activities for students in alignment with the curriculum, schemes of work, and lesson plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute appropriate activities for the students each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work, and lesson plans.
- Assist with the planning of the curriculum by providing safe, creative, and appropriate educational opportunities for all children within an inclusive environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans, while establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Keep updated with developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
- Prepare the classroom for class activities and be able to use relevant technology to support instruction.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified teacher with a P1 diploma (BA/BSc/HND qualification is indicated).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for education and young children.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Team player mentality – enjoy working in teams and group problem-solving.
- The successful applicant Must be able to teach a combination of these activity areas: CREATIVE ARTS, CRE and SOCIAL STUDIES.
- Be conversant with Key computer applications.
- Registered by the TSC and issued with a TSC Number.
- CBC trained (Both JSS and Primary level).
