Powder Coating Machine Operator

The role of the Powder Coating Machine Operator is essential to the workshop team, focusing on applying high-quality protective and decorative finishes to metal products. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in powder coating, preferably gained within a sheet metal fabrication or electrical panel manufacturing setting. The position demands strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate powder coating machines and related equipment efficiently and safely.
• Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating, which includes cleaning, masking, and pre-treatment procedures.
• Apply powder coating to MV/LV power distribution boards and other sheet metal products manufactured by the company.
• Monitor and control coating thickness, curing temperatures, and oven times to ensure strict adherence to quality specifications and standards.
• Inspect finished products thoroughly for any defects and confirm full compliance with job specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of all powder coating equipment.
• Adhere strictly to all workplace safety procedures and ensure the working environment is consistently clean and organized.
• Collaborate effectively with the fabrication and quality control teams to meet production targets and schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: BA/BSc/HND qualification or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a Powder Coating Machine Operator.
• Experience working specifically with sheet metal fabrication and electrical panels (MV/LV boards) is considered a strong advantage.
• Possess a good understanding of various powder coating processes, materials used, and necessary curing techniques.
• Ability to accurately read and follow detailed job specifications and work instructions.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality output.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an effective part of a team.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety practices specific to a workshop or manufacturing environment.
