Physical Planner

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and Implementation: Preparing and implementing physical plans for national, regional, and urban areas and cities.
• Sustainability: Supporting the integration of urban resilience and climate-responsive planning approaches into development plans and projects.
• Public Participation: Facilitating stakeholder engagement and public participation processes in planning and development initiatives.
• Linkages and Partnerships: Supporting coordination and linkages with local and international partners, institutions, and development agencies in planning-related programs.
• Inter-agency Collaboration: Contributing to inter-agency collaboration to enhance sustainable urban development and service delivery.
• Administration: Processing development applications and maintaining physical planning records.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning, Land Resource Planning, Environmental Planning, or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
• Be a graduate member of the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP) or the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) - Town Planning Chapter.
• A Master’s degree in the Built Environment from an institution recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
• Have a certificate in computer application skills.
