Job Description
Equity Afia, a network of medical entrepreneurs dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare, is seeking a professional for their Kisii facility. Although the role is titled 'Pharmaceutical Technologist', the core responsibilities and requirements are focused on Medical Laboratory Technology.
Job Purpose
The role involves managing laboratory operations, ensuring high standards of clinical diagnostics, and contributing to the efficient delivery of healthcare services within the medical centre.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory diagnostic tests and procedures with accuracy.
Maintain and implement Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for data management and reporting.
Ensure compliance with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board standards.
Maintain interpersonal communication with patients and the clinical team to ensure effective care.
Requirements
Education: Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Experience: At least one year of internship or professional working experience.
Licensing: Must be registered with a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Technical Training: Demonstrated understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer skills, specifically in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
