This role is responsible for offering quality pharmaceutical services, focusing primarily on dispensing, patient counseling regarding medicine use, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Dispensing medicines accurately.
- Providing comprehensive patient counseling on medication use.
- Maintaining accurate record keeping for all pharmaceutical activities.
- Handling Medicines Billing procedures.
- Performing mixing and reconstitution of injectable medicines.
- Carrying out Extemporaneous Preparation and Compounding of pharmaceuticals.
- Participating actively in Stocktaking exercises.
- Monitoring and maintaining required temperatures for cold chain items.
Person Specifications and Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- KCSE certificate or its recognized equivalent.
- A Certificate in Pharmacy obtained from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board.
- Possession of a valid practicing licence issued by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board.
- Membership in the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association.
- Proficiency in ICT Skills.
- Possession of a Certificate in Pre-service/in-service training in drug management.
- Demonstrate high standards of professional ethics and values.
- Ensure full Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya concerning Ethics and integrity.
