CarePay is a Kenyan company that administers conditional healthcare payments between funders, patients, and healthcare providers. Through the M-TIBA platform, CarePay directs funds from public and private funders directly to patients into a "health wallet” on their mobile phone. The use of these funds is restricted to conditional spending at selected health facilities.
This internship is focused on supporting the Payment Operations team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in processing basic payment transactions.
- Perform reconciliations (e.g., provider till operations, exit processing, technical support to users of wallet products).
- Maintain payment records and support data entry/documentation.
- Extract simple data queries via Metabase/Snowflake.
- Prepare reports on payment activities or KPIs.
- Monitor dashboards and flag areas for attention.
- Provide administrative support to the team, including data entry and document management.
- Escalate any issues outside predefined SOPs.
Educational Qualifications, Knowledge & Key Skills, and Competencies
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (ongoing or final year) in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Basic Excel skills; exposure to SQL is an added advantage.
