The role of the Part-time Lecturer in Forensic Accounting involves facilitating high-quality learning, conducting academic administration, and providing advisory support to students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The primary objective is to ensure an outstanding student learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following core duties:
- Teach and facilitate learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through various methods including lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials, as assigned by the CoD (Chair of Department) from time to time.
- Participate actively in developing, administering, and marking exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests (CATs).
- Assist in developing comprehensive learning materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining meticulous records to effectively monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
- Provide necessary advice, guidance, and constructive feedback to students to support their overall academic progress, and refer them to appropriate support services when required.
- Contribute significantly to the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curriculum specific to Forensic Accounting and related fields.
- Participate in supervision and assist undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research work and projects.
- Provide pastoral care to students through dedicated academic advising and counselling.
- Maintain proper and accurate records of students’ examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests, ensuring they are keyed into the examination records management system in a timely manner.
- Attend departmental, school, and University-wide meetings with other staff members as required.
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Possess a PhD Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited and recognised university.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr. FA), or a related professional designation.
- Have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer.
- Possess at least one (1) year of working experience in a practical setting, such as an audit firm, financial institution, or specialized forensic accounting environment.
- Demonstrated evidence of service contributions to the university and the broader community.
