The Painting Trainer plays a pivotal role in achieving Toolkit's mission by delivering high-quality, industry-aligned training tailored to student needs. Toolkit is a digitally innovative social enterprise focused on skilling women and youth and linking them to employment or entrepreneurship opportunities. Toolkit's robust skilling uses world-class technologies in each trade, enriched with employability, digital, and entrepreneurship skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement and update training curricula and schemes of work under guidance of the department Manager and in alignment with industry standards and feedback.
- Monitor and report on Student attendance, engagement and performance, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
- Conduct regular evaluations of training spaces to ensure high standards of safety, lighting, cleanliness and equipment readiness.
- Participate in research and innovation initiatives to enhance training methodologies and industry relevance.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of NITA grade 2 Certification in Painting & Decorating, Construction Trades or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in painting and decorating, with hands-on expertise.
- Minimum of 8 years in the construction sector.
- Experience in vocational training, adult education or coaching is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of industry safety regulations, materials and finishing techniques.
- Strong instructional and facilitation skills for both practical and theoretical training.
- Ability to train in both English and Kiswahili.
