The client, operating in the food security space, is seeking a qualified Nutritionist. This role is focused on promoting health, managing disease, and improving the overall well-being of clients through specialized food and nutrition guidance. The position also incorporates significant duties related to production oversight and management within the food security operations.
Role Objective
To promote health, manage disease, and improve overall well-being through food and nutrition, while ensuring efficient and high-quality production operations for food products.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The role involves a dual focus on direct client care and production/operations management:
Client Nutrition and Counseling
Conduct thorough evaluations of a client’s dietary habits, lifestyle, health status, and goals.
Create personalized, realistic, and sustainable meal and nutrition plans that address the client’s specific needs, preferences, and any dietary restrictions.
Teach clients and groups about the principles of good nutrition, the role of different nutrients, and how food affects the body and health outcomes.
Provide one-on-one and group counseling to support clients in making positive, long-term changes to their eating habits and lifestyle.
Clarify misconceptions and provide evidence-based information to help clients make informed food choices.
Modify diet plans as needed based on the client’s response, changing health status, or evolving goals.
Work to tailor diets to help prevent, manage, or mitigate the effects of dietary-related health conditions.
Stay current with or contribute to the latest scientific research in food and nutrition.
Ability to simplify complex nutritional concepts for diverse audiences.
Production and Operations Oversight
Oversee all production processes and coordinate activities to ensure customer satisfaction.
Coordinate the production of high-quality products according to agreed plans and within budget.
Establish and adjust production targets based on current conditions and customer needs.
Provide overall leadership and direction in production operations to ensure smooth functioning.
Enforce strict stock management procedures and controls to prevent inefficiencies or shortages.
Develop and promote a culture of strong risk management practices in production to prevent disruptions and ensure continuous operations.
Ensure understanding and application of statutory and regulatory requirements in operations.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Food Science.
At least 3 years relevant experience.
