Job Description
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a leading National Referral Hospital located along Northern Bypass Rd. near Kahawa West, Nairobi. It operates with a 650-bed capacity and is equipped with state-of-the-art medical amenities, offering specialized services including Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedics, and Renal care. This recruitment seeks to fill 2 vacant posts for Nutrition & Dietetics Officer II.
This role involves delivering high-quality clinical nutrition and dietetic services to both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring effective nutritional management and contributing to patient care outcomes. The position reports directly to the Head of Nutrition & Dietetics.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position holder will be responsible for the following key functions:
Assisting in preparing and implementing therapeutic diet plans for inpatients and outpatients.
Providing guidelines on therapeutic diets for existing and emerging diseases for hospital and home-based care.
Conducting nutrition care processes, including screening and assessment of patients.
Implementing nutrition interventions and evaluating outcomes to ensure effective patient management.
Supporting the development and dissemination of nutrition behavior change communication materials.
Collecting and compiling nutrition and dietetic data and preparing accurate reports.
Any other duty as may be assigned.
Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Registration by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
Possess a valid practicing license issued by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications is essential.
