Nurse Tutor

Role Overview

PCEA Tumutumu Hospital and Training College is recruiting for the position of a Nurse Tutor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, guiding, and mentoring students in nursing and related health sciences, aligning with the curriculums authorized by relevant licensing bodies. The ideal candidate will combine clinical expertise with modern educational methodologies to foster a rich learning environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and lectures to nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings.
• Develop, review, and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools.
• Evaluate and assess student progress through examinations, practical tests, and clinical assessments.
• Supervise and mentor students during clinical rotations and practical attachments.
• Maintain accurate academic and clinical performance records for students.
• Integrate modern technology and computer applications into the teaching and learning processes.
• Adhere to professional standards, institutional guidelines, and curriculum requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSCN).
• Registration: Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) with a valid practice license.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical and teaching experience.
• Skills: High level of computer literacy with a proven ability to integrate technology into instructional delivery.
• Additional Advantage: Proficiency in Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET/CBA) is highly preferred.
