This Nurse Manager role is based at UltraCare Specialist Hospital, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility committed to delivering exceptional patient care and innovative medical solutions. The role involves providing comprehensive leadership and management to the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of nursing staff.
- Ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care aligned with hospital policies and clinical standards.
- Planning, organizing, and managing day-to-day nursing operations to ensure efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization.
- Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and continuous professional development of nursing staff.
- Monitoring patient safety indicators and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen communication and care coordination.
- Ensuring proper and timely nursing documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Enforcing adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
- Participating in budgeting, procurement, and inventory management of nursing supplies and equipment.
- Handling patient and family concerns professionally, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Leading audits, accreditation processes, and compliance activities within the nursing department.
- Fostering staff mentorship, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
- Promoting continuous training, CME participation, and competence development for nursing staff.
- Supporting hospital leadership in policy development, strategic planning, and change management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSCN) from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams, handle operational challenges, and drive quality improvement.
- Advanced training in management, leadership, or quality assurance is an added advantage.
